Our Science & Innovation Report – available now

09 JUNE 2021

Today, we are proud to publish our 2020-2021 Science & Innovation Report.

Science and innovation are at the heart of our transformational journey as we continue to build A Better Tomorrow™ by reducing the health impact of our business.

Available to download at bat-science.com , the new Science & Innovation Report showcases our latest scientific research into New Category products and puts the spotlight on our world-class scientists and teams who are accelerating our transformation. It also looks to the future as we move into bold new areas and expand our portfolio Beyond Nicotine.

Published every two years, the report highlights how our 1,500 R&D specialists are accelerating our harm reduction mission and how our teams around the world have remained resilient during the COVID-19 pandemic. We explore our work in the cannabidiol (CBD) space and deep dive into our vaccine development in the US. We also highlight the importance of openly communicating our science with a broad range of stakeholders, having proudly have welcomed more than 3,500 visitors to our science exhibition, R&D Live, since it opened at our R&D hub in Southampton, UK, in 2011.

Dr David O’Reilly, Director, Scientific Research, says: “Science is the driving force of today’s society, and scientists are forever pushing at the boundaries to discover solutions that can transform or enhance our lives. The pandemic has showed us that science has never been more important to the way we live, work, and function.

“As a business, we are also at the scientific forefront, demonstrating a relentless commitment to our core purpose — to build A Better Tomorrow for our consumers, society, employees, and shareholders. Despite the challenges we have all faced in these past months, our team has continued to focus on how science can move us towards that purpose.

“I hope this thought-provoking report inspires you as much as it does me, and that you will join us on this journey of innovation.”
