BAT Global Business Services is driving efficiencies and has supported a smooth transition to remote working.

BAT’s Global Business Services (GBS) function has been recognised as one of the world’s Top 20 Most Admired Shared Services Organisations (SSOs) as awarded by SSON Analytics, the global data analytics centre of the Shared Services & Outsourcing Network.

In its fourth year, the Top 20 Most Admired SSOs study is one of the most valuable and sought-after benchmark data in the Shared Services and Outsourcing community. The awards recognise the critical role that centralised business support services have played for businesses during what have been very challenging times.

BAT’s GBS organisation provides multi-functional, centralised process support to BAT businesses around the world leveraging automation, analytics and process excellence.

Marina Bellini, Director, Digital and Information, BAT, said: “We are delighted to be included in the world’s Top 20 Most Admired Shared Services Organisations and I would like to thank all our GBS colleagues around the world for their hard work and resilience. This award reflects their leadership and achievements.

“BAT is focused on becoming a simpler, faster and stronger organisation. Our GBS function has been a vital enabler for this transformational journey which will see BAT build A Better Tomorrow by reducing the health impact of our business through offering consumers a wide range of enjoyable and lower risk products.

“Not only have our GBS colleagues been instrumental in driving efficiencies across our business, but, following the COVID-19 restrictions, they have been vital to managing the smooth transition to remote working for all our employees. For that I would also like to thank our BAT colleagues around the world who have embraced change, new ways of working and continued to drive BAT to A Better Tomorrow.”
