We’re a Global Top Employer again!

We’ve done it again! British American Tobacco (BAT) is proud to announce that we have been named as a Global Top Employer for the second year running.

Accreditation follows our being certified as a Top Employer for 2019 in 43 markets – an 23 per cent increase from our first global success in 2018 – across five regions: Europe, Latin America, Asia-Pacific, Africa and Middle East. We are one of just 14 companies to receive 2019 Global Top Employer status.

We’ve been certified as a Top Employer in 43 countries across five regions as follows:

  •  Africa (South Africa, Angola, Mozambique, Kenya, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Zambia)
  •  Middle East (Emirates, Jordan, Iran)
  •  Latin America (Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Paraguay, Venezuela)
  •  Asia-Pacific (South Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, Australia, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Pakistan and Uzbekistan)
  •  Europe (Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Romania, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Poland, Austria, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Turkey).

Having already received 2019 Top Employer certification in Asia-Pacific and Africa, global recognition was sealed following regional accreditation in Europe, Latin America and Middle East, all announced today.

It’s the ninth consecutive year we’ve been named as a Top Employer Europe.

It’s the second successive year that BAT has received regional Top Employer certification in both the Middle East and Latin America.

José Martínez-Campos, BAT’s Regional Head of HR for Americas and Sub-Saharan Africa, says: “Receiving Regional Top Employer certification again in Latin America shows how seriously we take talent management and people development, and underlines our commitment to attracting and retaining the best people.”

Behdad Naziri, BAT’s Middle East HR Director, added: “This accreditation recognises that we are on the right track with our people strategy, and we are delighted that our efforts in this area are being rewarded.”
